Life cycle inventory of plastics losses from seafood supply chains: Methodology and application to French fish products

چکیده
Plastic debris into the environment is a growing threat for ecosystems and human health. The seafood sector particularly concerned because it generates plastic losses can be endangered by contamination. Life cycle assessment (LCA) does not properly consider related impacts, which problem in order to find relevant mitigation strategies without burden shifting. This work proposes methodology quantifying flows of plastics from life products environment. It based on loss rate final release considering pre-fate approach as proposed Leak Project. They are defined 5 types micro macro losses: lost fishing gears, marine coatings, pellets, tire abrasion mismanaged at end-of-life. validated with case study applied French fish data available Agribalyse 3.0 database. Results show that average 75 mg 4345 per kg consumer, depending species method. main come gears (macroplastics) (microplastics). high variability: when mismanaged, packaging end-of-life As next step other or shellfish products, directly implemented inventory Further research should characterize impacts impact methodologies will available, identify eco-design solutions decrease major identified.

PFAAs in Fish and Other Seafood Products from Icelandic Waters
Perfluorinatedalkyl acids (PFAAs) are of growing concern due to possible health effects on humans. Exposure assessments indicate that fish consumption is one of the major sources of perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) exposure to humans, one of the major PFASs, whereas concerns of overestimation of this exposure source have been raised. Therefore, PFAAs concentrations in fish from the North Atlant...

The work is focused on the study of a supply chain related to short life-cycle products, that are goods produced and sold for a limited period of time like fashion goods, electronic devices, health care service and particular foodstuffs. The case study belongs to the last one category and regards a particular good produced by an important Italian food company, with several branches all over the...

This study considers pricing, production and transportation decisions in a Stackelberg game between three-stage, multi-product, multi-source and single-period supply chains called leader and follower. These chains consist of; manufacturers, distribution centers (DCs) and retailers. Competition type is horizontal and SC vs. SC. The retailers in two chains try to maximize their profit through pri...

Ocean and coastal ecosystems provide critical fisheries, coastal protection, and cultural benefits to communities worldwide, but these services are diminishing due to local and global threats. In response, place-based strategies involve communities and resource users in management have proliferated. Here, we present a transferable community-based approach to assess the social and ecological fac...
